Definitions:
Guided - a means of, device for, steadying or directing the motion of something; implies intimate knowledge of the way
Meditation - to engage in contemplation or reflection, to focus ones thoughts on, reflect on or ponder over; to project in the mind
Meaning:
Guided Meditation can take on many forms depending on the "some thing" which must be steadied, and the level of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding needed to direct that focus. What is this "some thing" which calls for steadying? The myriad of things which go to make up what and who one individually and collectively chooses to experience and grow through - i.e. the motions (and e-motions) of life living. When one focuses with intent to grow (meditation in it's Essence), one begins to grow beyond the known. Thus the need for guidance. There are a myriad of ways and means, levels and degrees, of being guided - from the gradual step by step evolution of life living - to the direct directions of 'mouth to ear' teacher/student relationship;... from wandering through life's corridors - to the path of swift unfoldment. As Reverend Nazirmoreh (A.B.R.D.) teaches - "Many Paths… One Goal".
