I received the Myrrh to day and ever before finding the Myrrh, ( I could smell it ) in the package, it brought back memories of the incense the priest used in the Censer (sp ?) at Midnight Mass in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.( in the 40's) We thought it was unusually long (the Mass) but looking back on it, it was the best time of my life. Uses of resins
Burning incense on charcoal is truly a unique and up-lifting experience. Each resin opens an avenue of peace and contentment. From mystical frankincense and myrrh resins, to inspirational sandalwood powder, and peaceful amber - these pure and natural fragrances warm the heart, calm the mind, attunes one in spirit… a True Scents experience. Glossary of healing properties of resin
Amber Resins
Amber, charged with solidified golden light, promotes healing, is soothing, stabilizing, harmonizing. Opens the doors of the mind to higher realms.
Breuzinho Resin
A resin which exudes from the trees of the Amazonian rainforest… symbolizes health, life and love.
Copal Resin
(Mexican Frankincense Resin)
A gum resin produced from various tropical trees… it’s main energy is for purification, meditation, consecration.
Dragons Blood Resin
A deep red resin exuding from the fruit of a palm or other similar resin from various trees. Formerly used in medicine, this resin’s energetic values include consecration, fidelity, honesty, empowerment, love, mental protection, strength, & virility.
Frankincense Resin

For centuries it has been used to strengthen memory, stimulate the conscious mind thru the sense of smell. Clairvoyance, domestic harmony, inspiration, knowledge, love, meditation, peace, mental protection, wisdom.

Sandalwood
Calms mind and emotions. Meditative, relaxing, relieves depression and stress.
Use cup, bowl or incense burner deep enough to fill with earth or sand. Light charcoal on bottom edge until coal begins to ignite, sit charcoal on earth or sand within burner. Let sit for a brief period; until the coal has started to glow, then place resins or powder on charcoal. These coals will burn for an hour or so. Continue to place resins or powder on charcoal as they burn out and smoke decreases for a continuous burning. Once charcoal is lit, it should burn out thoroughly for the full period of time; it can not be extinguished and re-lit at another time.
Charcoal and herbal coals...
"Since ancient times cultures throughout the world have recognized that many natural substances have purifying or healing attributes when burned. The burning of 'dhoops' or botanical mixtures, was a daily ritual performed mainly at sunrise and sunset. Since virtually all households made daily fires, hot coals were already available. The hot coals were put into an urn or censor and used for burning herbs, woods or resins. The botanicals would slowly smolder, releasing their fragrance and subtle qualities. Himalayan Herbal Dhoop Coals are made from dried herbs and woods. No chemicals or harmful additives are used. The label is hand printed on handmade paper following a centuries old tradition.
Directions: Break off a piece of dhoop coal, and hold with one hand while lighting the opposite corner until it flames. Allow the coal to flame until a portion is hot enough to smolder. A steady stream of smoke will rise. Place the coal in a fireproof urn, censor, or on top of a pot of sand. Place a portion of frankincense or other ingredients on top of the coal. Both will slowly smolder. Caution: Keep burning coals away from children and animals. Do not leave unattended."
