It was suggested that I add essence oils to my medicine cabinet to help with my vertigo. Spikenard, Neroli Blossom, Cypress, Magnolia and Jasmine are a few that seem to offer good help with vertigo. Can I purchase a trial size of each of these?

Of course the sensations of movement and symptoms accompanying vertigo can be much more violent in some cases than in others. You can feel like the floor has fallen out from under you, you can be sent hurtling to your knees. You can become blazing hot and red all over and drenched in sweat from head to toe. You can violently throw up time after time putting yourself in real danger of dehydration. Your head can feel so woolly and fuzzy, and swollen, really, that you can't possible negotiate your daily activities and relationships.

You feel all you can do lie down and suffer the symptoms. And that feeling can last days keeping you in bed and away from work or school or life in general for days on end. On top of which, your arms and legs seem to become useless and you can barely negotiate the act of walking or feeding yourself. This is when falls are a real danger, especially for the elderly who risk sustaining a broken hip.

What can be done to help for vertigo? Your doctor can tell you what medications may or may not be practical in your case after first ascertaining the underlying cause. Your doctor can also instruct you in which motion desensitizing exercises may be helpful and instruct you in doing them properly. Your doctor may also choose to prescribe a manipulation to realign parts of your inner ear that may have been jolted out of place, particularly if you've sustained an injury in an accident. Traditional medical doctors are the best first place to start with looking for answers and help with vertigo, but naturopathic doctors have training in specialized areas of medicine that might benefit you in your treatment of vertigo. Considering talking to a naturopathic doctor in your area. Besides all of these very important collaborations between you and your doctor, there are other simple things that you can do on your own to help with vertigo.
